Today at Petsmart in East Greenbush

Whiskers is pleased to be the in-store adoption partner for PetSmart in East Greenbush, New York. Our relationship with PetSmart allows us to showcase our adoptable cats and kittens in a retail setting. We bring an assortment of cats to PetSmart's adoption center where they are on display for up to two weeks at a time. During their stay, the cats are cared for by Whiskers volunteers and are available to meet during any of our five weekly adoption clinics (see hours below) after you have applied online.

Whiskers has over 100 cats in its shelter and dozens more in foster care. The cats and kittens below are at PetSmart in East Greenbush today!

Elsa

Elsa is a very sweet girl who can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take long for her to open up and show her personality. She loves laying on her window perch and getting neck scratches and belly rubs. She has done well with the cat in her foster home and they enjoy playing together. So she must have another kitty friend in her forever! Elsa would be a great addition and has so much love to give!
   Female,

Ilya

Ilya is a cutie pie with a little black mole on his cheek. He is always teasing the other kitties in the litter pouncing on them while they are sleeping and wrestling them all to the ground. He most often gravitates towards Shane and the two can often be found wrestling but then they pass out in a cat bed with their arms wrapped around each other's necks and sleep. He likes to come to his foster mom for quick cuddles but doesn't like to take time away from play. He is the first one to wake up and the last holdout during playtime. He is in a foster home with lots of other animals and they all get along well. He could be adopted with Shane if you were looking for a pair but would do fine solo also.

Svetlana

Svetlana is a total girl boss. She is the only girl in her litter and the bravest of the bunch. Anytime something new gets added to her space she is the first one to check it out with confidence reporting back to her siblings when the coast is clear. She will be the kind of cat that surprises you when she finds her way on top of your curtain rods with no clear route as to how she got there. But never fear she has the confidence and agility to get herself out of any situation. She is a best pal to all her brothers but favors Ilya, though they also do fine apart from one another. And as much as she is playful and fierce she can be loving and attentive in her foster home greeting visitors at the front door as if she is hosting a party.

Hugin

Hugin would like to be adopted together with his sister, Munin. He is about 9 months old, healthy, and active. He loves people, laps, petting, and play time! He likes to be picked up and held. Just a perfect sweet young cat! Munin and Hugin appeared on a trail camera being used to keep an eye on a feral cat feeding station in the city, for a couple of weeks. They surprised a person setting a humane trap one night, to catch a different cat, by meowing and coming up to the person to get petted! They appeared to be abandoned, no microchips, and at the time they were not spayed or neutered (they are now!). Since they stuck together during the time they were on their own, we would like to see them get a home together. Super sweet cats!
